Level: A2–B1
Objective: Learn how to start and maintain short conversations in everyday situations while traveling.
1. TALKING ABOUT THE WEATHER
Useful Vocabulary (Vocabulário útil):
- sunny = ensolarado
- cloudy = nublado
- rainy = chuvoso
- humid = úmido
- windy = com vento
- hot = quente
- cold = frio
- thunderstorm = tempestade com trovão
- lightning = relâmpago
- weather forecast = previsão do tempo
- heavy rain = chuva forte
Structured Sentences & Questions (Frases estruturadas e perguntas):
- It's really hot today, isn't it? = Está muito quente hoje, não está?
- Do you think it's going to rain? = Você acha que vai chover?
- The forecast said it might storm. = A previsão disse que pode haver tempestade.
- I love this weather! = Eu adoro esse clima!
- What do you usually do on rainy days? = O que você costuma fazer em dias de chuva?
Avoid Saying (Evitar dizer):
- "This weather is awful!" (too negative)
- Avoid complaining too much; be polite or neutral
Dialogue:
A: Hi! It's really sunny today, isn't it?
B: Yeah, it's perfect for the beach.
A: Do you know if it’s going to rain later?
B: I checked the weather app — just some clouds in the afternoon.
A: Good! But if there’s a thunderstorm, we should stay indoors.

Avoid Saying:
- Avoid asking about money, religion or politics
- Avoid personal questions like "Why are you alone?"

A: Great, thank you. Are you visiting too?
B: Yes, I’m here with my family for a week.

Avoid Saying:
· Don’t ask personal questions too soon

5. WHILE WAITING (Airport, Café, Line)
Useful Vocabulary:
· line = fila
· boarding pass = cartão de embarque
· gate = portão
· charger = carregador
· restroom = banheiro
· food court = praça de alimentação
Structured Sentences & Questions:
· Excuse me, is this the line for security? = Com licença, essa é a fila para o raio-x?
· Do you know where the restroom is? = Você sabe onde fica o banheiro?
· Is there a place to charge my phone? = Tem algum lugar para carregar meu celular?
Avoid Saying:
· Avoid complaining loudly or sounding impatient
Dialogue: A: Excuse me, where can I find a coffee shop? 
B: There’s one near Gate 12. 
A: Thanks! And is there a place to charge my phone? 
B: Yes, next to the duty-free store.

6. GIVING AND ASKING FOR OPINIONS

· like/love = gostar/adorar

· I really like the food here. = Eu gosto muito da comida daqui.
· Would you recommend this store? = Você recomendaria esta loja?
Avoid Saying:
· Avoid saying something is bad without being asked
Dialogue: A: Did you like the burgers at that restaurant? 
B: Yes! I think they were delicious. 
A: I agree. Would you go back? 
B: Definitely. Great service too.

7. TALKING ABOUT PLANS

· tomorrow = amanhã

· What are you doing tomorrow? = O que você vai fazer amanhã?
· I’m going to visit the mall. = Eu vou visitar o shopping.
· Are you planning to go to Disney? = Você está planejando ir à Disney?
Avoid Saying:
· Don’t pressure someone to change their plans
Dialogue: A: What are your plans for today? B: I’m going to the outlets this afternoon. A: Nice! I want to go there too. Maybe we’ll meet.
