Disclaimer:
The information in this tiny book is based solely on my own
few years of experience and the information I’ve learned from
reading several books about Chaos Magick and Hermetic
Qabalah. I do not claim to be an incredible Magus or a living
encyclopedia of magical knowledge. This is just a way to
share what I know, my own insights, and some resources. If
this book whets your appetite for Qabalah, I absolutely
recommend you read more. There will be a recommended
reading list at the end.

Introduction
Qaos Qa-whatnow?
As the title implies, this book is about Qabalah and Chaos
Magick. If you don’t know anything about either of those,
fantastic! This is a great place to get your feet wet when it
comes to Qabalah—even if you’re not a chaote—and you’ll get a
bit of Chaos Magick fun along the way! If you know your shit
when it comes to Chaos, but you don’t have a clue when it
comes to Qabalah, this is definitely for you.
If you know everything there is to know about both, then
hopefully you can have some fun with a few of the ideas in this
book.
One of the most interesting qualities of Chaos Magick is in the
fact that it is, in its essence, a “meta-paradigm”. Chaos Magick
doesn’t push any specific beliefs, except:
Magick works in some way or another, and Belief is a tool.
One of the core practices of Chaos Magick is "Paradigm
Shifting", which involves purposely changing your own belief
system to explore the magical benefits of a certain paradigm. A
chaos magician can believe in Norse gods of war and Valhalla
one week, and Barbie princesses the next. Both are valid.
Though in this case, one might be more useful than the other
(looking at you Princess Amelia of Floravia).
2
Because of its focus on practical, results-based magick, and
on paradigm-shifting, Chaos Magick is particularly useful as
a lens to approach other paradigms.
Qaos Qabalah—the name of this book, in case you've already
forgotten—is meant to be an exploration of Hermetic Qabalah
as a paradigm, using Chaos Magick as a lens.
Hopefully, it’s also a quick and dirty, but relatively
comprehensive, primer for the core concepts of Qabalah, in
theory and practice.
Qabalah can be daunting. I mean having to learn part of a long
dead, recently resurrected language doesn't help.
Unfortunately, most resources on the subject are huge old
books written by incredibly smart people who—let's be
honest—just really liked the sound of their own (literary)
voices. It’s my goal to make this the least intimidating possible
introduction to the Qabalah, without reducing it too much to
be useful.
We’ll also explore some fun chaos magicky takes on Qabalistic
concepts and do some practical exercises!
We’ll get into some Qabalah really soon, but
first...

A Note on Hebrew Transliteration and Pronunciation:
Throughout Qaos Qabalah, there are a lot of Hebrew words,
most of which will be transliterated with roman letters. The
spelling I’m using here is the same that is used in most
Hermetic Qabalistic texts, but that doesn’t mean they are
the only pronunciation. No one knows exactly how Hebrew
words were pronounced in biblical times, so you can’t
really be wrong as long as you don’t just say random
gibberish and spit phlegm at the sky.
That said, modern Hebrew is spoken in Israel today, as well
as by many Jews around the world. I prefer to use modern
Israeli Hebrew pronunciations, so here’s a quick guide to
do that. Oh, and don’t forget that Hebrew—when it’s written
with Hebrew letters— reads from right to left.
So when you see any th in transliterated Hebrew, like, for
example, in Sephiroth ,(ספירות) pronounce it as a hard T.
When you see any ch, pronounce it with a guttural throat
sound. If you don’t feel the phlegm in the back of your
throat gently vibrate, you’re doing it wrong. But if you can’t
do it, use an H sound instead. R’s are pronounced also at
the back of the throat, similar to the French R, but a gentle
roll like in a Scottish accent is totally acceptable. I’s are
pronounced “ee”. E’s are usually pronounced “eh”, not
"eyy", never “ü”. O’s are pronounced like half an “oh”, cut
off the sound half-way.

This is what a Qaos Qabalist looks like:
Chhhhhaos!

Paradigm Shift - Oh My God!
Ain('t) No Thing
If you just picked up this book on a whim without context, you
might be wondering “What in God’s name is Qabalah?” And
you’d be exactly right!
(Hermetic) Qabalah is a system of mysticism and magick based
on a Jewish mystical tradition by the same name (usually
spelled Kabbalah). Qabalah’s main area of focus is the
structure of the universe as it is derived from and created by
God. God has many names, often used in Qabalah as words of
power.
If you have religious trauma, or you just can’t believe in some
gray bearded man in the sky creating everything, don’t leave
yet! Hermetic Qabalah doesn’t see God as some pissy geezer
with control issues. God is a concept, an infinite everything, or
rather an infinite nothing.
I only ask that you try to believe in these ideas while you’re
reading this, as soon as you put the book down feel free to go
back to believing in the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
R'amen!
6
Negative existence, there is no God?
Kabbalistic texts describe three “veils of negative existence”:
First, there is Nothing. A deeper Nothing than just an absence of
“thing”. This is a kind of Nothing we can’t begin to comprehend.
In Hebrew this nothing is called “Ain” .(אין)
Somehow this nothing condensed or contracted into a singular
point: spaceless, positionless, but endless. Endless nothing,
called “Ain Soph” סוף) ,(אין literally "no end".
This point is essentially God itself, a condensed but infinite
point of nothing! Beyond this, it’s impossible to understand the
true nature of God, except to describe the qualities of the
universe its created within itself.
Now, since this endless nothing has no end, it must contain
endless potential! This
potential is called “Ain Sof
Or” ור) סוף Endless—(אין
Light. And from this endless
potential, God becomes
“conscious”—a
consciousness quite different
from what we
experience—creating the
entire Universe within itself.
This concept is incredibly
similar to the concept of
Chaos, as described in Liber Kaos by Peter Carroll.
7
What in The Word?
Anyways, God “spoke”But the rest of the magic squares also have the influence of the
astrological planets associated with the Sephiroth. Qabalists
use these number squares to draw sigils, usually based on the
names of archangels, angels, or spirits. This can be super
useful for Talismans and Amulets, as we'll discuss soon!
Here are a few of the "Planetary" Kameoth, but I can't fit them
all here. The rest are readily available on Google or in books
like How To Make and Use Talismans by Israel Regardie.

17 5 13 21 9
10 18 1 14 22
23 6 19 2 15
69
Using these Kameoth to make sigils is pretty straightforward:
Just turn the letters of Hebrew word or phrase (such as the
name of an Archangel) into numbers, and plot the numbers on
the appropriate square. There's just one complication, what if
the Kamea doesn't have the number?
You can fix this using a system called "Aiq Beker". Basically, if
you have a letter like Resh ,(ר) for example, which enumerates
to a number greater than 10 or 100, you can take off a zero or
two from the end.
So Resh (200) could become 20 or 2. Only do this if the number
doesn't exist on the square, and only reduce to the highest
version of the number that does exist on the square. If the
square has a 2 and a 20, but not 200, then reduce to 20, not 2.
Let's try this out by making a sigil for Tzadkiel ,(צדקיאל) the
Archangel associated with Chesed. Since Chesed is the 4th
Sephirah, we'll use the 4x4 Jupiter Kamea.
First, let's break down the letter values. The highest number in
the square is 16, so we'll have to reduce any number above 20.
צ = 90 = 9
ד = 4
ק = 100 = 10
י = 10
א = 1
ל = 30 = 3
Now we just have to plot them on the square. Start with a little
circle, and end with a perpendicular line, like a T. Notice how
we have two 10's in a row. All we have to do in that case is add a
little squiggle!

The Sigil of Tzadkiel on the Jupiter Kamea
And that's it! Now we have the seal or sigil of Tzadkiel, the
Archangel of Chesed! Of course this technique can be
applied to anything, especially if you want to add a certain
planet or Sephirah's influence to a sigil.
This kind of sigil is most often used in Talismans and
Amulets. By placing these symbols and words of power on
an object (or even a piece of paper), and consecrating it
with a ritual, any object can become a powerful artifact!
71
Talis-manic Pixie Dream Girl
Unlike women, these are objects that you can
use to make you a better person
And now for the really fun part! Have you ever wanted to make
your own magical artifacts of power, like the Eye of Agamotto
from Dr. Strange, or the One Ring from LOTR? Well, these
probably won't stop time completely or make you actually
invisible, but they can do lots of other awesome things! But if
you do manage to make talismans with those abilities please tell
me how you did it.
Talismans are objects that hold power or energies which can
have a ton of different uses. You can make a talisman that can
make time feel slower or faster to you when you wear or carry it.
It's not quite full time control, but it's good enough for me.
Qabalistic talismans usually use the energy of a specific
Sephirah, which also means they use the energy of the
astrological planet associated with that Sephirah
Amulets are similar to talismans, and often these words are used
interchangeably (though that's not quite accurate). Amulets
block a certain energy. They're usually used for protection, but
there are other uses. Complete invisibility may be impossible
(maybe), but you can make an amulet that helps you go
unnoticed when you wear it.
Talismans and amulets are made in pretty much the same way.
The difference is intention and timing. Since Qabalistic
talismans and amulets are mainly planetary, astrological timing
is super important.
Talismans should be consecrated during a waxing moon
Amulets should be consecrated during a waning moon
72
Besides the moon phases, there are certain days, and even
times that are best for each type of planetary talisman or
amulet!
The planetary days are:
Sunday - Sol (Sun) - Tiphereth
Monday - Luna (Moon) - Yesod
Tuesday - Mars - Geburah
Wednesday - Mercury - Hod
Thursday - Jupiter - Chesed
Friday - Venus - Netzach
Saturday - Saturn - Binah
There are only seven days in a week, which means there are
only 7 planets here. Kether and Chochmah are too abstract, and
lack a real planetary correspondence, so they wouldn't be
condusive to a planetary talisman.
Malkuth is Earth, which doesn't have it's own day or time
because we're here all the time! At least until Elon gets to Mars,
but whichever bourgeoisie assholes go with him can figure this
out themselves.
Besides the 7 days, there are also "astrological hours"
associated with each planet. Unfortunately, these aren't your
regular 24, 60-minute hours a day. That would be so much
easier, but unfortunately it doesn't work that way. In order to
figure out a planetary hour to make/consecrate a talisman, you
have to do a little bit of math.
To find the length of a sunlight hour, subtract the time of
sunrise from sunset, and divide by 12. It helps if you convert
into minutes first, and use 24 hour time instead of AM/PM.
Do the same for moonlight hours, but use sunset and the next
sunrise.
73
Once you have your hour lengths, go down these lists, starting
with sunrise for the Solar hours, and sunset for the Lunar hours.
The 12th Solar hour should end at sunset.

Ideally, you would do your consecration during both the correct
day and the correct hour, otherwise you may have some
influence from the wrong planet involved. But the hour matters
more, so make sure to do it at the right hour, even if you have
the wrong day.
75
All this math and planning is exhausting, but it'll be worth it for
a better talisman or amulet!
I secretly love it
An amulet or talisman can be any object (yes, even a butt plug),
as long as you can draw on it (though it's possible to make a
talisman with another method that we'll explore in Exercise 10,
in the next chapter). Sometimes the easiest material for a
talisman or amulet is just a piece of paper!
To get the most surface area for sigils and words of power, one
great shape for a talisman is a 4-sided circle. It's basically just
two circles connected by a little tab. You can draw/write on
each side of each side, and fold over the tab. It becomes almost
like a locket, inthat it opens up! You could honestly do the
same thing with an actual locket as
well.
Now let's actually make one! When I was preparing for
writing this, it was a waning moon, and a friend employed my
services to help with a problem they were having. Without
giving too many details, they had an issue with a persistent
and somewhat negative energy that was affecting their
dreams. I gave them a few options to fix the problem, but I
also made an amulet for them, so let's go over how I made it.
Then you can create your own!
Here's a template of
a circular 4-sided
talisman:
Keep in mind, when you're doing planetary magick, astrology
matters. Anything going on in the cosmos can have an effect on
your talisman, so look up the chart of the time you're planning.
76
Exercise 6: Yesod Amulet of Psychic Protection
+2 to Will saves!
This amulet is for blocking out psychic or astral energy, so I
thought Yesod, and the Moon, would be a perfect fit.
Since this amulet was all about protection, I wanted to include
some defensive imagery. So the first side of this amulet has a
shield in the middle, with a sentence describing the intention
written in Hebrew:
The sentence in the middle translates to "Protect me from
negative energy and all that is evil".
I know, it's cheesy as hell (or rather heaven in this case)
Gabriel is written on the top in English, and the bottom in
Hebrew, since Gabriel is the Archangel associated with Yesod.
On the sides we have "Elohim Gibor" written in Hebrew.
Elohim Gibor is not the God-name associated with Yesod; it's
actually associated with Geburah. Because this is for
protection, I wanted some element of martial energy involved.
77
Glued to the other side (and the next side you'll see if you open
the amulet like a book), is the planetary seal of the moon. You
can find the planetary seals pretty easily with a google search,
and they're in the book How To Make and Use Talismans by
Israel Regardie. Around the outside is Luna and Yesod in
English. The Hebrew on the right is Yesod, the Hebrew on the
left translates to "moon".
On the next side are the sigils (made using the Kamea method)
of Gabriel to the right, Kerubim to the left, and Chashmodai (a
spirit of Luna) in the upside-down triangle representing water.
"Apas" above the triangle is the name of the crescent moon
shaped Tattva, which is on the next side. This is just to add a
little more moon energy to this side. The English around the
circle is self-explanatory.
78
The final side is pretty busy. In the center is a pentagram,
representing the microcosm, and within it is the number 9,
which is the number of Yesod. Below the pentagram is the
Tattva shaped like a crescent moon, Apas. Surrounding the
pentagram and Apas is a large hexagram, representing the
macrocosm. This is meant to connect the physical to the divine,
focused on Yesod. On the top and bottom of the outer circle is
"Shaddai El Chai" in Hebrew, which is the God-name associated
with Yesod. On the left and right is "Ehieh", the God-name
associated with Kether, to add some extra divine oomph!
With all that combined, we have a hell of an amulet! No
negative energy would dare fuck with it!
This is absolutely not the only way to make an amulet for this
purpose. Use whatever symbols and sigils and words of power
that works for you. The important part is that it holds a lot of
meaning, and that it's consecrated properly. In Qabalistic
methods, it is usually necessary to include some Archangels'
or other spirits' sigils. It's also necessary to include names of
God for this method, because theoretically, God is where all
the power in the amulet really comes from.
79
Feel free to print/scan this page so you could make this
amulet yourself and consecrate it. But it would be better
if you make your own, since it would hold more
meaning for you.
Just cut out each double-circle part, and glue one to the other,
making sure both sides keep the same orientation. Then fold
on the tab, and you have a 4-sided paper amulet!
80
Wow, that was a lot of information! And none of it matters if you
don't actually consecrate the amulet. What happened to not-
intimidating?
Unfortunately, this is some serious magick that's really hard to
make simple and fun. But don't worry, I'll show you a more fun
Qaos Qabalist way of doing this really soon. But first we have to
talk about consecration.
Right now, this amulet is nothing but a pretentiously decorated
piece of paper. It's worthless at this point, just like the opinions
of anyone who doesn't like this book. We can't fix them (don't
worry I know you're not one of those people), but we can make
this amulet into a real magical artifact!
Exercise 7: Amulet/Talisman Consecration
Holy paper, Batman!
Before we begin, make sure it's the right time. Remember the
astrological hours? Figure that shit out first. If you're
consecrating the Yesod amulet, make sure it's a waning moon,
and a planetary hour of Luna (ideally on Monday).
If you've got the time figured out you can start the ritual! (Of
course read this first and plan it out before you actually do it)
Step 0: Ideally, do a divination before you consecrate to make
sure you're not making a mistake.
Step 1: Banish! Never forget to banish before any kind of Low
Magick.
Step 2: Bring down energy from Kether. We'll go over the
Middle Pillar ritual in the next chapter, but for now, just
imaging a pillar of white light going through your body from
above your head.
81
Step 3: Holding the Talisman/Amulet in your left hand, and a
wand or your first two fingers out in your right hand (as in the
LBRP), imagine the pillar of light turning into the color of the
associated Sephirah (queen scale colors if you're looking at the
correspondence chart from earlier). In the case of the Yesod
amulet, the color would be purple.
Step 4: Imagine the energy of that color flowing from the light
pillar into the talisman/amulet through your left hand. Feel it
strongly!
Step 5: Call to the corresponding Angelic Choir to consecrate
the talisman/amulet. For the Yesod amulet, say with conviction:
“Come, O, KERUBIM, Servants to God, Surround, Consecrate
and charge this Amulet! KERUBIM!”
Make sure to vibrate the words in all caps. Just replace
KERUBIM with the correct choir if you're using a different
Sephirah, and replace "Amulet" with "Talisman" if you're
consecrating a talisman.
Step 6: Call to the corresponding Archangel to consecrate the
talisman/amulet. For the Yesod amulet, say with conviction:
"O, GAVRIEL, help thy humble
servant and consecrate and charge
this Amulet! GAVRIEL!”
I thought we were supposed to
look like chubby babies with
wings?
A biblically accurate Cherub:
82
Step 7: Call to the appropriate aspect of God to charge and
consecrate the talisman/amulet. For the Yesod amulet, say with
reverence:
“I invoke the power of SHADDAI EL CHAI!!! Charge and
consecrate this amulet in thy name! SHADDAI EL CHAI!”
Step 8: Consecrate the talisman/amulet yourself, stating your
intention. For the Yesod amulet:
“I Consecrate this Amulet of Psychic Protection, so that it shall
not allow harm to come to me, and shall defeat all unwanted
and evil energies!”
Step 9: Hold up the talisman/amulet
vertically in front of you with your left
hand. Draw an Earth Invoking
Pentagram (start from the top point and
move counter-clockwise) vertically in
front of it with your wand or right hand.
Step 10: Touch the center of the pentagram with your wand or
fingers, feeling it light up when you do so. As you do this,
vibrate the God-name that corresponds to the Sephirah you're
working with. For the Yesod amulet: "SHADDAI EL CHAI".
Step 11: Repeat steps 9 and 10 a total of times equal to the
number of the Sephirah. For Yesod, do this a total of 9 times.
Step 12: Say "So Mote It Be!"
Your talisman/amulet is now consecrated! Now, put it away
somewhere outside of your ritual space, ideally in a silk bag if
you have one. Then do another banishing in your ritual space,
away from the talisman.
83
Exercise8: Qaos Qabalist's Talisman
You sure are a QQT
There are, of course, tons of ways to mess with the talisman
formula, and you're absolutely encouraged to come up with
your own. But let's go through one I made for my own selfish
purposes: The Supreme CNH Talisman of Book Sales.
Of course, I'm going to consecrate this talisman in the book
before I release Qaos Qabalah, so if you paid for this book
(thank you, you're wonderful), maybe this talisman is what
drew you in!
So what does the CNH stand for? Chesed-Netzach-Hod.
That's right, 3, count 'em, three Sephiroth for one talisman!
That's definitely not conventional. These three Sephiroth
represent, for the purpose of this talisman: Abundance, Fame,
and Success/Writing respectively.
Besides using 3 Sephiroth, there's a couple things I changed
from the basic formula. Let's look at the first side of the 4-sided
talisman.
This definitely looks different! First of
all, it's orange! Orange represents
Hod, the Sephirah of Logic, Writing,
and Success. At the top of the circle is
the name "THOTH", the Egyptian god
of writing and magick. Thoth is also
seen as the shape of the ibis in the
main circle.
Now let's make another one, this time a talisman. But let's do it
a bit differently. Fuck the rules, we're Qaos Qabalists!
84
On the sides of the circle are the names of two prolific authors
that I love and respect:
Neil Gaiman, being an amazing fiction writer with a long list of
fantastic (and famous) books, was definitely worth putting on
this talisman. He represents Thoth more than any author I
could think of, especially since he wrote the character, Mr. Ibis
in American Gods.
Lon Duquette is one of my absolute favorite occult writers, and
a personal idol of mine. His books are fun and easy to follow
and full of great information. I'm hoping this book can even
come close to halfway living up to any of his books.
At the bottom is me! This is a way of setting the intention to
become a writer I respect, and this whole side of the talisman
represents that. Qaos Qabalah is in the middle, aspiring to be a
great work that Thoth would be proud of. What do you think?
Did I achieve that goal? You better say yes!
The next side looks a lot more standard. Recognize that sigil?
It's the sigil from the last chapter: "This book will sell over one
hundred copies."
The blue represents Chesed, the
Sephirah of abundance. The
God-names around the circle
are the corresponding names to
the 3 Sephiroth that we're using
here:
"EL", "YHVH TZABAOTH", and
"ELOHIM TZABAOTH"
85
The third side is where the three
Sephiroth come together. This
side is orange and green,
representing the combination of
Hod and Netzach.
On the top of the inner circle is
the symbol of Jupiter and the
number 4, corresponding to
Chesed. The sigil next to it is the
sigil of Tzadkiel that we made
using the Kamea of Jupiter in the last chapter. You can see
Tzadkiel written in Hebrew at the top of the outer circle.
"Abundance" is written to the right of it.
The bottom right is the symbol of Venus and the number 7,
representing Netzach. Next to that is the sigil of Haniel, the
Archangel of Netzach, created with the Kamea of Venus. On the
outer circle nearby, you can see Haniel written in Hebrew next
to the word "Fame".
On the left is the symbol of Mercury and the number 8,
representing Hod, next to the sigil and name of Michael, the
Archangel of Hod.
The last side is my favorite,
and pretty much self-
explanatory:
Makin' it rain Benjamins!

I'll leave you to figure out the best way to adjust a consecration
ritual to this type of talisman. For timing, I consecrated this
talisman on a Wednesday (Mercury), during the hour of Jupiter,
because I care more about those influences than the influence
of Venus for this.
Obviously this particular talisman isn't any use to you. Think
about something you want, and make a talisman for it. Do it in
whatever weird and wacky way that you can think of. I believe
in you!

Angels and Demons and Golems,
Oh My!
God's Minoins and Yours
It wouldn't be a book about magick if we didn't talk about
spirits. It also wouldn't be a book about Qabalah if we didn't talk
about angels!
Of course, angels, and Archangels, have been mentioned
earlier. But let's really get into it.
As we know, the Archangels in Briah take the pure ecstatic
inspiration and Word of God from Atziluth, and translate it into
creative directions for the angels in Yetzirah.
The angels then take those directions and design more
specifically how those directions will be carried out in Assiah.
In Assiah, the intelligences and spirits, and the elementals,
carry out the instructions of the angels, to manifest the will of
God into physical reality.
Of course, this is all a metaphor. These
spirits/angels/archangels may or may not be real and seperate
from us. Many magicians think they're aspects of our own
consciousness. If they are seperate entities, their actions most
likely don't work in exactly this way. They are most likely more
abstract, especially the Archangels, as they are closest to the
abstract world of Atziluth.
The important part is the hierarchy. God commands the
Archangels who command the angels, who command the
intelligences and spirits and elementals.
88
We can use this hierarchy to our advantage. Since we are made
in God's image, we are able to assume the authority of God, and
boss the Archangels around. Be nice though, Archangels can be
pretty intense!
If we invoke an aspect of God (like one associated with a
Sephirah), we can tell the appropriate Archangel to tell the
appropriate angel to command the appropriate intelligence
and/or spirit or elemental to do our bidding! It's like we're the
CEO of heaven! But hopefully a little more ethical than most CEO's. Fuck
capitalism!
Look back at the correspondences for the Sephiroth. You should
see a God-name, an Archangel, and an Angelic Choir for each.
Below that, you should see an intelligence and a spirit for each
except Kether, Chochmah, and Malkuth. Kether and Chokmah
are too abstract to have spirits, and Malkuth has an elemental
for each element that acts directly in the physical plane.
Here's a simple example of this method. In this case, the spirits
of Netzach can help a cam model make some extra money:
YHVH Tzabaoth, I invoke thee, lord of hosts!
Beautiful, victorious God of Netzach,
whose influence is in Venus,
I am thee!
Haniel, Glory of God!
I beseech thee, great Archangel, in the name YHVH Tzabaoth!
Come, O Haniel and hear my word!
Send the Elohim Tarshishim to do my will!
89
Gather before me, Elohim Tarshishim!
Bring Haniel to my presence!
Compel Kedemel to do this, my will:
This night, during my stream,
make this body more beautiful in the image of Venus!
Make my ass appear thiccer,
and my titties plump,
so I can rake in cash,
from some horny chump!
If I ever get into sex work, I'll have to use this one!
Note: Hey there Demons, it's me, ya boi!
Probably one of the most talked about, and most exciting,
types of magick there is, especially in Western Esotericism
and Qabalistic magick, is the Goetia, or Solomonic magick.
Goetia involves complicated rituals to evoke, or summon,
demons to partial physical manifestion. These demons are
helpful for low magick of all kinds, but most of them are best
for teaching you about a certain subject.
Solomonic magick isn't really doable for most people,
because it involves a lot of expensive materials. Also, it feels
kind of dated for a lot of people. Solomonic demon evocation
is very hostile to the demons. It involves completely
subjugating them, and blackmailing them with curses.
Most Goetic demons are appropriated deities from old pagan
religions. Many magicians prefer a more respectful approach.
I won't get into this topic more, since I don't have the space,
nor the experience for it, but I definitely recommend you read
more about it!
90
An incredibly popular current in Chaos Magick is the idea of"thoughtforms", artificial spirits created out of human
consciousness. These thoughtforms can be made on purpose,
or by accident! Some people believe that all spirits, and even
deities, are thoughtforms.
There are three main types of thoughtforms:
Servitors,
Egregores,
and Godforms
Servitors are created for a specific purpose, usually by one
person. Servitors are not often sentient; they exist just to
perform a task. Some people like to think of them as computer
programs, but in the mind instead of a real computer.
Egregores are thoughtforms that are created by the attention of
several people. Even the spirit of a big corporation, or many
people's perception of a famous person, can be an egregore.
Egregores tend to have their own motives, and can be sentient
in a way that is quite different from human sentience. Don't look
behind you, it's Slenderman!
Godforms are egregores that are worshipped. They can have
profound effects on the world. They don't necessarily have to be
deities. They can be a concept, like the concept of money.
For our purposes, we probably only want to create servitors.
Creating a servitor is easy. Design what you want it to look like
and do, give it a name and a sigil, describe it, then give it life
with gnosis and energy! But creating a servitor takes some of
your energy, and having many active at once can be draining.
It's best to get some energy from somewhere else first, so let's
look at a Qabalistic ritual which is fantastic for that purpose!
91
Exercise 9: The Middle Pillar
Being impaled is a lot more pleasant when the pike is made of divine light
The only infinite source of energy is the infinite source: God.
So let's make use of that!
The Middle Pillar is an excellent ritual that's well loved by
Western Esotericists. It's great for drawing in energy, balancing
your own energy, and practing feeling and manipulating
energy!
It's important that you practice banishing until you're really
comfortable with it before you try this. The second part of the
ritual can be really intense if you're not used to magical or
divine energy. I almost fell over the first time I did it properly!
Step 1: Banish
Step 2: Ideally standing upright, with your arms slightly out
and palms facing up, imagine a bright sphere of nearly blinding
light above your head at Kether.
Vibrate the name "EHIEH" several times until the light is about
the size of a watermelon and as bright as possible.
Step 3: While holding the image of the bright light at Kether,
imagine a pillar of light slowly coming down from the orb,
through your skull and into your throat. Once there, imagine
another orb of light at your throat (this is Daath).
Vibrate the name "YHVH ELOHIM" (YHVH is pronounced YUD-
HEH-VAV-HEH) several times, until this sphere is about the
size of a grapefruit. I'm hungry and fruit is the best analogy I could think
of.
92
Step 4: Continue the pillar through your body until it reaches
the center of your chest at Tiphereth. Imagine another orb of
light here.
Vibrate "YHVH ELOAH VE DA'ATH" several times until the
sphere is almost as big as the one at Kether.
Step 5: Continue the pillar down to the genital area, and
imagine another sphere here. This is Yesod.
Vibrate "SHADDAI EL CHAI" several times until the sphere is
about the same size as the one at your throat.
Step 6: Continue the pillar down to your feet. A little below your
feet and in between, imagine another sphere. This is Malkuth.
Vibrate "ADONAI HA ARETZ" several times until the sphere is
as big as the one at Yesod.
Step 7: Fortify the image of the entire pillar in your mind. Then,
after a minute, imagine the pillar slowly fading but not
disappearing.
These first seven steps make up the middle pillar ritual. You
can end here, but if you want to feel energy more intensly, or if
you're planning to channel this energy into something, it's a
good idea to continue to the Circulation of the Body of Light.
Eh, not bloody enough!

MP Part 2: The Circulation of the Body of Light
Step 1: Start breathing rhythmically. Inhale 4 seconds, exhale 4
seconds. Keep doing this until you're relaxed.
Step 2: Beginning on an exhale, imagine or feel light energy
moving down the left side of your body from your crown as you
exhale, and back up the right side of your body as you inhale. Do
this several times.
Step 3: Now do the same as in step 2, but this time down the
front of your body and up the back. Repeat several times.
Step 4: Beginning with an inhale, feel energy rise up your
middle pillar from Malkuth until it reaches Kether. When it does
so, exhale with force and feel the light explode like fireworks
and rain down to the ground! Repeat several times.
Step 5: Now as you breathe, imagine a snake of light slowly
coiling around you tightly, moving up as it wraps around. The
snake is long enough to cover your whole body, so you still feel it
at your toes when it's up to your head.
If you did this right, as soon as the snake reaches Kether, you'll
probably feel the spiral moving really quickly in on itself. This
sensation is intense and really difficult to describe. At this point
you are being filled with more magickal energy than you're
probably used to. When you feel like you've had enough, will it
to stop and open your eyes if they were closed.
That's it! Once you've practiced this enough, you'll be able to
easily direct all that magickal energy however you want to. If you
want to make a servitor now, just do this first so you don't use up
your own energy.
95
My Precious
No, not Gollum, Golem!
Let's take a quick break before we get into some more intense
magick. How about I tell you a story?
Long ago, during a time of particularly bad oppression for the
Jewish people (let's be honest, the world is pretty much never
kind to us Jews), a village in Prague was under threat of
persecution and violence. A rabbi decided to make a Golem to
protect his village.
Him and two other rabbi's took some clay from the riverbank
and fashioned a human-shaped lump. Using their mastery of
the Kabbalah, they were able to animate the clay into a human-
like form, and told it to protect the village, and it did (until it
eventually went on a murderous rampage).
It's a cute story (albeit kinda dark, but so are all Jewish stories,
believe me). But, besides showing the potential power of
Kabbalah, what does it have to do with this book? I'm
suggesting we make a Golem of course!
Exercise 10: Let's make a Golem! (kinda)
Obviously, I'm not going to teach you how to make a real living
golem with super-human strength in this beginner's book.
Though, if your Golem does actually come to life and start
killing your enemies, I cannot be held liable (By reading ahead
you agree to this)!
Instead, we're going to make a clay talisman that holds a
servitor, amplified in its ability to affect physical reality by the
fact that it's tied so closely to the physical plane in Assiah.
96
This exercise will be using pretty much all the techniques we've
discussed in this book, plus some ideas from the Jewish
legends of Golem creation.
Now, Golems are traditionally protective and helpful. You can
make this servitor do whatever you want, but I'd like to go the
old-fashioned way for this one. To start this project, let's design
a protective and helpful servitor.
Since we're working with the Qabalistic paradigm, I'd like our
servitor to have a sort of "angelic" theme to it. So this one will
be a silent angel-like being with a sword and shield. For it's
name, we should use some techniques from the "Qabalistic
Scrabble chapter"
For mine, I started with the hebrew word for shield or protector:
מגן (magen). If we ignore the "Nun Sophit" ,(ן) and instead use
the value of a regular Nun, this word enumerates to 93. 93 is
also the number of אל" "בני (Beni El), meaning "son [or sons] of
God". If we combine the two words, we get "בניאל" (Baniel),
which sounds very much like the name of anAngel (mainly
because it ends in "iel"). I like this name for our servitor/Golem,
so we'll use this one.
93 is also a very important number in Thelema (some books
about Thelema are listed in the recommended resources
section). In the Greek version of Gematria, the words Thelema
(meaning Will), and Agape (meaning Love), both enumerate to
93!
Now that our servitor has a name (Baniel), we need to draw its
sigil. Since we want Baniel to be alive and functioning in
Assiah, the physical realm, we can use the Kamea of Earth.
97
Now that we have the sigil (pictured to
the right), all we would really need to
do to create the servitor is to describe it
in detail, give it some gnosis, and tell it
its purpose. But we're going to take it
further than that, since we want Baniel
to be/inhabit a Golem.
Before we get into making ol' Banny's
body, I want to give him a secret incantation, so he will only
obey those who know it. You can do this using the
gematria/notariqon/temurah secret code methods we
discussed earlier. I won't tell you the incantation I came up
with for my version of Baniel. If you end up following this
along the same exact way, you'll have your own version of
Baniel, with a different incantation!
The next step is to make Baniel's body. You don't have to get
your socks wet at the riverbed and get natural clay for this,
though it would be pretty cool if you have the means to do so.
Any kind of clay would do. I just used some oven-bake
modelling clay from the craft store because I don't have a kiln.
Just form the shape of a Golem however you see fit, as long as
you give it a wide-open mouth. I made mine able to stand by
itself because I think it give's it a more demanding presence
(and I just think it's cute). The legends say to carve the word
,אמת meaning truth, into the Golem, so I did that as well. I also
carved the Tetragrammaton (יהוה) into its back.
During the ritual, we put a small rolled up piece of paper with
Baniel's name and sigil on it into the Golem's mouth, which is
why you need to give it an open mouth.
98
He thicc
Now that we have the lifeless body of the Golem, ideally baked
and hardened, there's only one more thing to prepare. Since we
want this body to be a talisman, but we don't really have space
to draw a bunch of words of power or symbols all over it, we
have to figure out another way.
Theoretically (and practically, it worked for me), you can make
a paper talisman, and use it to consecrate a different object
with those properties. Just put the Golem on top of the talisman
during consecration, but focus the energy into the Golem
instead of the paper.
For the talisman, I wanted it to have elements of Malkuth and
Earth, since the purpose is to make the physical object into a
suitable vessel for artificial life in Assiah, I also wanted
elements of Geburah/Mars because the Golem should be
strong and protective. This is what I came up with (next page).
99
By now, you're a Qaos Qabalist,
you can dissect this talisman and
figure out what everything
means. I believe in you!
Look how cute he is! My little
mensch! I'm kvelling!
100
Alright, now we have everything we need! All we have to do is
consecrate the talisman, give Baniel life, and put him in the
Golem!
I did this on a Thursday, the day of Jupiter, because I wanted to
give him some compassionate, helpful, kind energy. But I did it
during the hour of Mars, because I wanted thim to be strong
and protective, and severe when he needs to be.
So here's the actual steps for the ritual:
Step 1: Set up a ritual space. If you have an altar table, set it in
the center of your circle (the circle can be imaginary as long as
you have enough space to walk around it). If you don't have an
altar, and surface tall enough to easily reach it, and small
enough to not take too much circle space is good. You should
be facing north behind your altar table when you do the actual
ritual. Your Golem should be on the altar on top of the paper
talisman. Also, keep the piece of paper with the sigil of Baniel
next to it.
Light some incense (ideally Sandalwood and Dragonsblood)
and candles. Put on some droning music if you'd like, as long
as it won't be too distracting. You're about to do some serious
magick!
Step 2: Do some sort of divination/reading to make sure this is
a good idea right now. I almost did this ritual on Wednesday,
but my tarot deck told me to definitely not do that!
Step 3: Banish. You don't want any unwanted energy or
thoughts influencing this working!
101
Step 4: Do the Middle Pillar ritual. You're going to need some
extra energy for this!
Step 5: Imagine the energy from your middle pillar turning
scarlet red, the a more muddled red, then black, then olive
green, then citrine yellow. As you do this, flow the energy into
the Golem with your left hand.
Step 6: As you touch the Golem with your left hand, speak the
following in an authoritative, but reverent, voice. Don't forget to
vibrate the capitalized words! It might help to write this down
as a script and keep it on your altar.
ADONAI HA'ARETZ! Lord of the Land! I invoke thee O great
God in thy kingdom! I am thee made manifest in Assiah! Hear
my plea! Consecrate this talisman and charge it, O Lord!
ADONAI HA'ARETZ!
O SANDALPHON! Archangel of Malkuth! I beseech thee, who
looks in awe upon God's creation! In the name of Adonai
Ha'Aretz, hear my plea! Send the Eshim to aid me! Make this
clay a vessel for life!
Eshim, come, gather before me, by Sandalphon's authority!
Send the elementals to do my will!
Salamanders, Sylphs, Undines, Gnomes! Come, form this clay
into a body for Spirit!
I consecrate this talisman, the Golem of Baniel, so that it may
be a vessel suitable for life!
102
Step 7: Draw the Earth Invoking pentagram (starting from the
top point, moving counter-clockwise). Touch the center,
vibrating ADONAI HA'ARETZ. Repeat this for a total of 10 times.
Step 8: Put the rolled up paper with the sigil of Baniel in the
mouth of the Golem and say the following:
BANIEL! [secret incantation here]! Come, begin thy life here in
this vessel! I give you this body as residence for your soul! Come
and be born, BANIEL, in the light of God!
Step 9: Walk around the circle widdershins (a funny
ceremonial-magick way of saying counter-clockwise), holding
the Golem. As you do this say the following:
In the name of EHIEH, I give you life!
Make sure the "I give you life" part happens when you reach
your original position, stop there for a second and repeat this 9
more times, using the correct God name as you move down the
Tree of Life:
In the name of YAH, I give you life!
In the name of YHVH ELOHIM, I give you life!
In the name of EL, I give you life!
In the name of ELOHIM GIBOR, I give you life!
In the name of YHVH ELOAH VE'DAATH, I give you life!
In the name of YHVH TZABAOTH, I give you life!
In the name of ELOHIM TZABAOTH, I give you life!
In the name of SHADDAI EL CHAI, I give you life!
In the name of ADONAI HA'ARETZ, I give you life!
AMEN!
103
Step 10:
It's ALIIIVEEE!!!!!!
Step 11: Say the following:
BANIEL, great protector spirit who resides in this Golem! Thy
purpose it this! Protect thy charge from harm, at all costs! Obey
only those who know your secret incantation which is [secret
incantation]!
Thou shalt do no harm but to those who attempt harm on thy
charge! In the name of Adonai Ha'Aretz! In the name of Elohim
Gibor! Do not fail me, Baniel! Your secret incantation will spell
your death when it is spoken backwards thrice in succession!
You are great and powerful, but not without this weakness!
Now live, BANIEL! Do thy purpose! Your first charge is me.
Protect me with thy might!
[Secret Incantation]
So mote it be!
104
Step 12: Move the Golem out of the circle, and banish in the
circle.
And that's it. You made a Golem! He will protect you or
whomever you charge it with protecting with all his might!
And they lived magickally ever after
I hope you see how you can make this, and any exercise in this
book, your own. Breakit down to its essentials and make magick
that works for you. That's what being a Qaos Qabalist is all
about!
This is the end of the book, unfortunately. There's a lot more to
Qabalah than this, but this should be a great starting point to
delve into it. With all this under your belt, you should be able to
take on even the most pretentious of Qabalah books! Speaking
of which, the next couple pages will be a recommended
resources list.
Please don't stop here! Read/watch any of the resources that
interest you. This book has only scratched the surface, and
there's so much more to discover!

Qaos Qabalah can take you from the magical equivalent
of a goldfish to a full-blown magician yelling in Hebrew
at angels for profit. Whether you're absolutely new to
magick, or you've got a few sigils under your belt (if you
know what I mean), this book is the best way to get your
feet wet when it comes to Hermetic Qabalah.
We'll dive headfirst into the theory and practice of
Qabalah, and break it down using Chaos Magick as a
lens. So get ready to lose your mind, meet God, and
pleghm your way to making your dreams come true!the universe into existence using
numbers. Hebrew letters are a representation of the “Word of
God” because they each have a numerical value attached to
them. This is the key to the Qabalah. We’ll explore the
numerical values in the chapter titled “Qabalistic Scrabble”.
In the scriptures, it is said that God
spoke the universe into
existence. Here’s a secret:
the Hebrew language is
actually divine math! But
don’t worry, it’s not calculus or even
algebra, all you need is some basic
counting, addition, and subtraction
skills.
You know I had to throw a
Monty Python joke in here
3! No, 5!
Back to square one, or was it 22?
The Sepher Yetzirah (Book of Formation), one of the oldest and
most essential books on Jewish Kabbalah, describes the 22
letters: 3 Mother Letters, 7 Double Letters, and 12 Single
Letters. This can be shown by conceptualizing God as a cube.
Who knew Minecraft was holy?
When God created existence, They (God uses all pronouns)
created 3 dimensions: Up-Down, Left-Right, Forward-Backward.
We get the 3 mother letters—א,מ,ש (right to left: Aleph, Mem,
Shin)—from these dimensions.
8
This cube has a lot more interesting aspects, and it eventually
becomes the Hermetic Rose Cross, but we don’t have the space
to get into that here. But you can check out Lon Duquette’s
Understanding Aleister Crowley’s Thoth Tarot to learn more
about this and some of the other concepts here (as well as about
the Thoth tarot of course).
Because of these dimensions, we have a cube with 6 sides, and
a center point. Here’s where we get 7 double letters:
ת,ר,פ,כ,ד,ג,ב
(right to left: Tav, Resh, Peh, Kaph, Daleth, Gimel, Beth)
This cube also has 12 edges, hence the 12 single letters:
ק,צ,ע,ס,נ,ל,י,ט,ח,ז,ו,ה
(Koph, Tzaddi, Ayin, Samech, Nun, Lamed, Yud, Teth, Cheth,
Zayin, Vav, Heh)
The number 22, as in the number of Hebrew letters is
significant, as we’ll see later.
9
Why How What Huh?
Since God is infinite and beyond comprehension, Qabalists have
realized that it’s best to divide Their qualities into 4 parts. This
is where God’s unpronounceable name comes from: יהוה
(YHVH).
There are many approximations and guesses about the
pronunciation, the most common one being Jehova or Yehova,
but it’s most likely not the true pronunciation.
Lon Duquette has a hilarious take on this in The Chicken
Qabalah.
Each letter of this name (also known as the Tetragrammaton)
represents a different aspect of God, with many
correspondences.
A good way to understand the qualities of the letters is to
compare them to the classical elements.
The first letter י (yud) represents the classical element of Fire,
and the “highest” part of God. And no, I don’t mean that God
partakes in the Devil’s Lettuce. But in a way She does through
you, dear reader.
The second letter ה (heh) represents the element Water. The ו
(vav) represents Air, and the final ה represents Earth.
10
4 worlds? I can barely handle this one!
The Qabalists also split the Universe up into 4 worlds
associated with each of these letters.
The first world, called Atziluth, the Archetypal world where
God acts directly in divine inspiration and ecstasy, is
associated with י (yud).
The second world, represented by the first ה (heh), is called
Briah, the Creative world where the Archangels interpret the
will of God.
The third world,
associated with ו (vav), is
called Yetzirah. This is
the Formative world,
where the Angels take
the instructions of the
Archangels and create
the blueprints for
everything that appears
on the final world,
Assiah.
Assiah is the world of
Earth, the final ,ה the
world of Manifestation,
where we think we live.

Soul Searching
Scripture tells us we’re made in God’s image, but what does
that mean? Does it mean that God is a young queer person
with blue hair and back pain like me? Unfortunately—or
maybe fortunately—no. It means we, like God, have the
power of creation. It also means our souls correspond to
God’s four worlds, (and the Tree of Life, but we’ll get into
that in the next chapter).
The lowest part of the soul is the Nephesh, the
animal/instinctual consciousness. The Nephesh
corresponds to the final ה of the Tetragrammaton, and to the
world of Assiah.
Some say that the Guph (meaning physical body) is another
part of the soul, below Nephesh, and the two of them
combined form the Assiah soul.
The part of our soul we usually identify most with is the
Ruach, basically the ego. Ruach means spirit, or wind. It is
the conscious consciousness; our thoughts, emotions,
memory, imagination, etc.
The Ruach is spiritually blind and needy, believing itself to be
the whole soul, much like the Demiurge of Gnosticism (a very
interesting topic, I recommend researching this).
Don’t get ruach-tistical! There’s a lot more to this world, and
yourself, than just the visible and the understandable.
The Ruach corresponds to the ו (vav) of the Tetragrammaton,
and the world of Yetzirah.
12
Above the Ruach, corresponding to Briah and the first ,ה is the
Divine Intuitive soul, Neshama.
And above Neshama, is Chayah, the divine spark of life.
Chayah corresponds to י (yud) and Atziluth.
All of these parts of the soul, as well as the 4 worlds, correspond
to specific parts of the Tree of Life, the quintessential image of
Qabalah.
Now let’s go climb that tree!
Wow, I can see my
house from here!

Tree Hugging 101
Don't Cut It Down, This Tree is Sacred!
The Tree of Life (shown on the previous page) is the
quintessential symbol of Qabalah, and the most recognizable.
It’s essentially a map of the Universe, of Consciousness, of God,
of literally everything! Everything has its correspondence on
the Tree. Even your weird aunt Susan has a bit of a Binah quality
to her (say hi to her for me).
It’s important to remember that, like the 8-circuit model in
Prometheus Rising by Robert Anton Wilson, “The map is not
the territory.”
The Tree is essentially an incredibly
useful tool to conceptualize and
compartmentalize everything you
experience. It’s also useful for practical
magick, high magick rituals, and
meditation, as we’ll see later.
There's a lot to cover here first, but
don't worry. I'll get you yelling at the
Archangels like a weirdo in no time!
This chapter is going to be a lot of information, so bear with
me! Most of the chapter is reference material, so you don't have
to read it all in one go. Read up until the Sephiroth
correspondences list, then skim the rest. Then, whenever you
need to, you can look back at this chapter as a resource.
Anyways, without further ado...
The section in which I say the word "Tree" too
much...
What is it
this time?!
15
The Tree is complex. If this is your first time seeing it, it might
be a bit overwhelming. That’s why I’m here! Let's go over it
together:
The Tree consists of 10 spheres, called Sephiroth (plural for
Sephirah). Each Sephirah represents an aspect of God, the
Universe, and consciousness. These are “Emanations” from
God. Starting from the top at Kether, the Light of God emanates
down, becoming more muddled and less pure, until it reaches
Malkuth, the sphere of the mundane and physical.
Each Sephirah is connected to at least 3 others, for a total of 22
paths, like the number of letters in the Hebrew alphabet. In fact,
each of these paths corresponds to one of those letters. If you
take a look at the Tree, you'll see the letters for each path.
The tree is separated into 3 triangles: The Supernal Triangle,
The Moral Triangle, and The Astral Triangle. Below the
triangles, Malkuth stands alone, almost an afterthought. Look
at them, they're so sad!
16
I am that I am not?
To understand the Tree, let’s begin at the top. You see those
three arcs above Kether? Those represent the three veils we
talked about earlier: Ain, Ain Sof, and Ain Sof Or,
respectively from the top down.
I Am!Am I?
So how did we get from Nothing, to this whole Tree?
Remember how Nothing (Ain) condensed into anendless
Nothing (Ain Sof)? And from that endless Nothing, infinite
potential—or endless light (Ain Sof Or)—was born. Well, that
infinite potential condensed into a single point of Endless
Consciousness. God’s consciousness is the Crown (Kether)
atop the Universe. From Zero, God became One.
I guess you could say God went from zero to hero, just like
you will by the time you finish this book!
The Supernal Triangle... it would make a
pretty cool hat
17
God’s consciousness, suddenly aware, had nothing to be aware
of! There’s nothing outside of God, so what could They think of
but Themself? God, being such an all-powerful creator, made a
mental reflection of Himself just by becoming aware of Himself.
Big ego, am I right? This self-awareness, or Wisdom, is the
second Sephirah: Chochmah.
But then God realized that the mirror image wasn’t Themself,
but only a reflection. By Understanding the difference between
Themself and His reflection, She created another reflection:
Binah.
These three Sephiroth, God’s consciousness and its reflections,
are called the Supernal Triangle. The Sephiroth here are more
abstract in nature, and a bit more difficult to describe.
A quick note about God's pronouns:
The pronouns were confusing in the past few paragraphs, but there’s a
reason I did this. God in Their purest form, is non-binary (like me! Am I
God?), or genderless depending how you look at it. Chochmah as well as the
Sephiroth below it on the right side are considered masculine. Binah and
the Sephiroth below it on the left are considered feminine.
In fact Chochmah is called “The Divine Father” and Binah is called “The
Divine Mother”.
Remember the four worlds we talked about in the last chapter?
The highest one, Atizulth, corresponds to the Supernal
Triangle, but some sources say that only Kether, or sometimes
just Kether and Chochmah, represents Atziluth.
In This case, Binah corresponds to Briah, the Creative World.
As with the four worlds, the parts of the soul can be attributed to
the Tree. Chaya, the highest part of the soul, corresponds to
Chochmah. Neshama, the divine intuition, corresponds to Binah.
18
Screaming into the Abyss
Because of the Supernal Triangle’s abstractness, it’s
incredibly difficult to truly experience their essence as a
concrete being living in Assiah.
Between the Supernal Triangle and the rest of the Tree lies
The Abyss, the barrier between the abstract and the actual.
The Gate to the Abyss is the false Sephirah: Daath.
The A.'.A.'. (a decentralized magickal order) has a grade
system in which the initiate must "climb" the Tree to reach
the next grade. It is said, in order to cross the Abyss to reach
the grade associated with Binah, the magician has to kill their
ego and sacrifice all their accomplishments. The grade
associated with Da'ath, which isn't quite a grade, is called the
"Babe of the Abyss." Sounds intense!
Daath, meaning knowledge, is not an actual Sephirah, but
you may see it in some images of the Tree of Life. We won’t
get further into it here, for the sake of space, but feel free to
research it if you want to know more.

Moral Kombat!
Don't worry this won't be as bad as the movie
Just as God reflected on Themself and created Chochmah, the
Moral Triangle was reflected from the Supernal Triangle, over
the Abyss, and into the world of the actual.
Chesed, representing Mercy or kindness, reflected from the
Divine Father, Chochmah; from Wisdom comes compassion.
Binah, the Divine Mother (also known as the great and terrible
sea), is reflected in Geburah: Strength or Severity. From
Understanding comes strength and power.
Tiphereth—Beauty or Glory—is a reflection of Kether. From the
divine beauty of the consciousness of God, comes the beauty of
the Son (or rather, the Sun).
The aptly named Moral Triangle corresponds to Briah,
according to some sources. Others say that all of the 5
Sephiroth below the Abyss and above Yesod correspond to
Yetzirah. The same 5 Sephiroth correspond to the Ruach, the
ego mind.
Within the Ruach, Chesed represents Memory, Geburah
represents Will, and Tiphereth represents Imagination.
Get over here!
20
Shake that Astral
I like big spheres and I cannot lie
In the same way that God created a second reflection (Binah) by
acknowledging the difference between Themself and
Chochmah, the creation of the Moral Triangle instantly created
another triangle: the Astral Triangle (a.k.a. The Magical
Triangle or The Mundane Triangle).
In this way, Netzach (Victory) is a secondary, lower, reflection of
Chochmah, Hod (Splendor) is a secondary reflection of Binah,
and Yesod (Foundation) is a secondary reflection of Kether.
The Astral Triangle deals directly in the astral, or mental realm.
As such, Netzach and Hod are the more base aspects of the
Ruach: Desire, and Reason respectively. Yesod corresponds to
the Nephesh, the animal or instinctual mind.
GET ON WITH
IT!
Yes God, I'm sorry! I promise we're
almost done with this part! Just a
couple more things and we'll get to the
part you can skim through so we can
start the fun part!
Oh don't grovel! One
thing I can't stand is
people groveling!
21
My Kingdom for a Qabala course!
This one is a stretch, but all's well that ends well, right?
The final Sephirah, Malkuth (Kingdom), hangs below the Tree
as if it's separate. Malkuth represents the physical components
of the universe. Anything you can see, smell, hear, taste, or
touch (and other things that we would still consider physical).
It also represents the human body, the Microcosm. Malkuth
corresponds to Guph, the physical part of the soul that, together
with the Nephesh, corresponds to Assiah.
Psyche pillars, qu’est-ce que c’est?
Now I'll never get this song out of my head!
As I stated earlier, the Sephiroth on the
right-hand side of the tree are
considered masculine, the left side is
considered feminine. This implies the
middle is considered genderless.
These three columns, or Pillars, have
their own meanings:
The right Pillar is called the Pillar of
Mercy, named after Chesed. This is the
masculine pillar, representing the
positive/active aspects of the Tree.
The left column is called the Pillar of
Severity, named after Geburah. This
pillar represents the negative/passive
aspects of the Tree.
22
Frickin’ Fractal
Frickin’ Fractal Frickin’ Fractal
Frickin’ Fractal Frickin’ Fractal Frickin’ Fractal Frickin’ Fractal
The Tree of Life is incredibly versatile, which isn't surprising,
considering it is a map of everything. But there isn’t just one
Tree! There’s 4! Or actually 10? 40?! Maybe more!
The Tree is a fractal. Just as the four worlds we discussed earlier
have correspondence on the Tree, each can be seen to have its
own copy of the Tree. So you can have the Chochmah aspect of
Assiah, and the Yesod aspect of Briah, etc.
Every Sephirah has its own mini Tree of Life within it too! So
Geburah can have a Chesed aspect, and so on. But that also
means that you can have a Chesed aspect of the Geburah aspect
of Yetzirah. In fact, every part of the Tree can have an aspect of
any other part of the Tree, and so on! Trippy, right?
The middle pillar, the Pillar of Mildness, represents the
neutrally charged aspects. If you’ve heard of the phrases
“Right-Hand Path” and “Left-Hand Path”, they might make
more sense now.
Also, there’s a really cool ritual which uses the Sephiroth on
the Pillar of Mildness (including the false Sephirah, Da’ath),
called The Middle Pillar ritual. We'll go over it in the last
chapter, "Angels, Demons, and Golems, Oh My!" But before
you do that, try the banishing rituals in the “Begone,
Thought!” chapter a few times.
23
Woo! That wasn't so bad was it?
The rest of this chapter is reference material: A list of each
Sephirah and their traits and correspondences, and a less in-depth list of the paths that connect them and a few of their
correspondences. After that we can get into the fun and
practical side of Qabalah!
That said, it is important that you pay some attention to this
reference. Understanding the Sephiroth and their
correspondences can be incredibly helpful in the long run!
Grab life by the spheres!
Be gentle though
The next ten pages are reference pages for the Sephiroth. Each
page has a picture of the Sephirah, a description, and a list of
correspondences. The description and Sepher Yetzirah Title
help to understand on a high level what the Sephirah is about.
The correspondences are useful to help you understand how to
categorize other things in your life, but they're also super
useful in magick.
For example, if you wanted to create a ritual related to Kether, it
might be useful to vibrate "EHIEH" and call upon Metatron to
aid in your working. It might help to wear pure white, or white
flecked with gold. You could invoke Arceus and feel the Force
within you. You could also wear a crown with a diamond in it, if
you're ridiculously rich.

Qabalistic Scrabble
78 Points for Whizbang!
Now that we've got all that theory out of the way—Oy vey! My
Jewish heart can't take it anymore!—there's just one more
thing we have to do before we can get into some real magick.
Don't worry! It's actually really useful in a practical sense,
and we're going to be using it a few times by the end of this
little book. This chapter is about silly little games Qabalists
play. Also known as "The Literal Qabalah".
Gema Gema Gema Gema Gema Gematria!
My sense of humor is older than I am
Remember when I said that the Hebrew alphabet is also a
number system? It's true! Every letter has a number
associated with it, and the way it works is pretty simple. As
you list the letters, each value increased by one until you
reach 10 (yud ,(י then it increases by 10 until you reach 100
(koph ,(ק then it increases by 100 until you're out of letters.
Don't worry, there's a chart on the next page so you can see
for yourself.
Anyways, the system of using Hebrew's alphabetical
numbers to translate wholewords or phrases into numbers
is called Gematria. Gematria is useful for a lot of things! The
main reason Qabalists use it is to find connections between
words with the same numerical value, especially in
scripture. You could do that forever, or you could use
Gematria for secret codes, sigils, ritual correspondences,
magickal names, passing notes in class, or whatever else you
could think of. We'll get into some of that later, but first, let's
look at the alphabet.

There's just a couple extra things to keep in mind. There are
actually a few more letters to finish the list up to the number
900, but these are just the "final" ("sophit" in Hebrew) forms of
some of the same letters. That means those letters change
shape when they're at the end of the word. These letters are
Koph sophit ך) - 500), Mem sophit ם) - 600), Nun sophit ן) -
700), Peh sophit ף) - 800), and Tzaddi sophit ץ) - 900).
For Gematria purposes, it's common practice to either not use
any final form letters, or to add them in where they're not
supposed to be in order to change the numerical value. Fuck
the rules! Or as Rabbi Lamed Ben Clifford (see Chicken
Qabalah by Lon Duquette) would say, "Don't worry about it!"
As you may have noticed, Hebrew doesn't have any dedicated
vowels. Instead, each letter can be a sort of vessel for a vowel
sound. פ (Peh) can sound like "pe", "pa", "pi", "po", "pu", "phe",
"pha", and so on, or it can just make the consonant sound by
itself.
However certain letters are often used as containers for
certain vowels sounds. ו (Vav) often sounds like "o" or "u"
without a consonant sound when it's in the middle of a word. א
(Aleph) and ע (Ayin), are pretty much just containers for vowel
sounds, but they sometimes created their own syllables, as we
can see in דאת (Da'ath). The Daleth in this case sounds like
"da", then the Aleph adds it's own "ah" sound before the "t"
sound of Tav. Again, don't forget: Hebrew is read from right to
left.
יו אוב פרווד סו אמ י תיס ריד כנ יו יפ
40
I know all this can be confusing, especially when you see a
Hebrew word you don't know how to pronounce. But this can
be useful for our purposes, as we'll see soon. Now let's get into
some actual Gematria!
There are two ways for English speakers to use Gematria. You
could actually translate your english word or phrase of choice
to Hebrew, and then calculate the number. Or you could just
trans-literate it: convert the English letters directly to Hebrew
letters, or guesstimate phonetically, and calculate it that way.
For example, the word "dog" in Hebrew is כלב (kelev). כ
enumerates to 20, ל enumerates to 30, and ב enumerates to 2.
So the Hebrew word for dog is equal to 52.
But if you wanted to try the other way, you could just convert D
to ,ד O to ,ו and G to :ג ,דוג which enumarates to 13. The values
are different, but both can be used for sigils, codes, or to find
connections between words. Dog can also be spelled ,דג which
also means fish in Hebrew. Does that mean dogs are secretly
fish?!
Sometimes Gematria can reveal interesting connections you
might not have realized. For example, my first name in
Hebrew enumerates to 216. 216 is also the number of the word
Geburah ,(גבורה) the 5th Sephirah which corresponds with
Mars. I also happen to have Mars-ruled signs in several
placements on my astrological birth chart. Geburah is
Strength or Courage, which is a theme I've noticed a lot in my
life. Not that I'm particularly brave, or physically strong, but
I've survived a lot!
41
Exercise 1: Basic, but hard to crack, secret code!
Let's make a secret code with Gematria!
First, decide a phrase or sentence that you want to hide:
"I unironically love Cats the movie"
Embarrasing, I know. Now convert it into Hebrew (this time
we'll use the second method, phonetically transliterating).
מובי" תה קצ לב אנירוניכלי "י
And now, enumerate each word.
10, 1+50+10+200+6+50+10+20+30+10, 30+2, 20+90,
400+5, 40+6+2+10
= 10, 387, 32, 110, 405, 58
You can stop there, but if you wan't to make it more secure:
make words from random letters that add up to each number
אבנה עמחז שנ יק טיג רצעכבה חב
And transliterate it back into English. Since there's no vowels,
you can fudge it however you want as long as it makes sense
with the letters.
Chav Retza'akabah Tig Yak Shen Emechaz Avenah
And that's your code! It's incredibly difficult to crack. Show a
friend this chapter and do this exercise together. Now try to
crack each other's codes, it's almost impossible!
300 100 1 690, 216 73 604!
42
Of course this method is impractical if you want to actually
send a message to someone, or read it yourself later, unless
you have a specific system. Make a plan for exactly which
letters you convert to which numbers, and vice versa, and
which letters you choose for the random numbers. It can also
be helpful to prioritize the list of letters so a specific total
number will always be the same jumbled word.
Now you can create a secret cult with encoded documents of
evil intent, and no one would know! Or you could do some
weird suspense-filled slow sexting, if you're into that.
The not-so notorious Notariqon
Notariqon is another method of Literal Qabalah that is pretty
common. Basically, it involves either creating an acronym for a
phrase, or lengthening a word into a whole phrase (like that
TikTok trend with the word "bitches", except you actually write a
word with each letter, instead of just writing B I'm gay T C H E
S).
For an example of the first type of Notariqon, let's use "I
unironically love Cats the movie" again. Using the
transliteration I used in the exercise, let's take the first letter of
each word.
יאלקתמ
If we just used the English letters we would get IULCTM, which
is unpronounceable, but since Hebrew letters are vowel
buckets, we get: Ya'alkatam. If, you used a phrase with more
meaning, this could end up being a word of power of sorts.
Unfortunately, I don't think vibrating "Ya'alkatam" in a ritual
would do much of anything for me, except maybe to remind me
of my adoration for Cats the movie (I love it so much).
43
One of the most notable examples of this type of Notariqon is
"אגלא" (pronounced Ah-geh-la), which we'll see in the next
chapter when we discuss the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the
Pentagram. AGLA, as it is often spelled in English texts, comes
from the phrase: אדני לעולם גיבור אתה (Atah Gibor Le'Olahm
Adonai), meaning "You are powerful forever, my Lord", or in a
more literal modern translation "You are a hero to the Earth,
my Lord".
This method is a great way to create a magical name for
yourself, which we'll do in the exercise at the end of this
chapter.
But first let's look at the other form of Notariqon. If you take a
word, let's say we go with my nickname: Aer. You can stretch it
out into a phrase. If we just stuck with English, this could be:
"An Effortless Read" (like this book!).
If you know any Hebrew, or have a Hebrew to English
dictionary on hand, you could do this in Hebrew.
Aer in Hebrew could be spelled ,"אר" so we could turn that into
רואה" "אני (Ani Rouah), meaning "I see".
Of course you can make longer phrases with longer words, you
could even make super long ones by using a whole sentence
and changing every letter into a word. The possibilities are
endless!
And now, a short poem with absolutely no hidden meaning
whatsoever:
Joyously, Every Living Lady Is Craving Light Eating. Candy
And Treats Savored.
44
A benign Temurah
These are getting worse, huh?
With all these methods combined, you could make a truly
uncrackablecode. Just don't let Nic Cage find out!
I'm going to steal the Sepher
Yetzirah
Temurah means "permutation". It's basically the same as a
normal cipher: you just replace each letter with a specific other
letter, and the only way to crack the code is to figure out or
know the cipher. One of the most common ciphers for Temurah
is called "Albam". Basically, it's the Hebrew alphabet seperated
into two rows, one on top of the other. So when you write your
code, write the corresponding letter from the other row.
כ י ט ח ז ו ה ד ג ב א
ת ש ר ק צ פ ע ס נ מ ל
So, using Albam, my nickname Aer would go from אר to ,לט
which could be pronounced "Let". Try exercise one again, this
time using the Albam Temurah instead of Gematria. It'll be
easier to crack for anybody who knows this cipher, but the
average person doesn't.
45
Exercise 2: Magickal Name
In many magickal orders, it's a tradition to choose a magickal
name or motto for yourself, but that doesn't mean you need to
be initiated in an order to choose one. Aleister Crowley chose
Therion, a Greek word meaning "Beast".
Therion enumerates to 666 using Gematria, so it's a fitting
choice for the self-proclaimed Great Beast. There's any
number of ways to choose a magickal name, but let's explore a
couple using the methods we've learned.
Find a phrase or motto that speaks to you. Often initiates use
phrases from a holy book. For this example let's just use a
phrase that is loved by many Chaotes: "Nothing is True,
Everything is Permitted".
Using Notariqon, we can condense this down to NITEIP, or if
we take out the is's, NTEP. This doesn't sound good as it is, so
let's switch to Hebrew letters: .נטאפ This can be pronounced
"Nateph" or "Neta'aph", and it's Gematria is 140, which is also
the number of the Hebrew word ,"מלכים" meaning Kings.
You could just call yourself Sibling Melechim (Soror or Frater
doesn't have a simple non-gendered equivalent). Let's say you
don't love Melechim, or Nateph, how about we try using the
Albam? Now we get ,גרלו which can be pronounced "Gralu, or
Garalo", and it's Gematria is 239. 239 is also the number of
אזראל (Azrael), the Angel of Death. Sibling Gralu has a nice
ring to it, and the correlation to Azrael does make the name
seem a little more magickal, and a bit edgier. You could even
take the name Azrael instead if you want to be an anime
character.
46
You might want to take it a step further and find another
actual word that is associated with 239. Explore it as much as
you want using these techniques until you find a name that
feels magickal and personal to you.
You could also start with a number, like the Gematria value of
your actual name. As I said before, my first name enumerates
to 216, which is also the number of Geburah. If we run
Geburah (גבורה) through the Albam, we get נמפטע
(Nemaphateh), which enumerates to 249. I don't love that,
what if we rearrange those letters? How about ,עפנטמ which
can be pronounced "Aphantem", which sounds like "A
Phantom", so maybe in this case I'll go with "Soror Phantom"
as a magickal name. Don't worry, I won't drop a chandelier,
but I might show up to a masquerade dressed as the Red
Death.
If you're curious how I knew other words with the same
numbers, I found them in the back of Liber 777 by Aleister
Crowley, which is full of Qabalistic correspondences and a list
of words by their Gematria value.
Identity theft is not a joke,
Aer

Begone, Thought!
Plus: Drawing Imaginary Stars and Yelling
God's Names in Vain
As many of my Chaotic friends who may be reading this
already know, one of the most important things when it comes
to doing magick is something that, amongst Chaotes, is called
"Gnosis". Gnosis means knowledge, and in other contexts it
means a deep understanding of profound and secret
knowledge.
In this context, we're talking about what Peter Carroll and other
notable Chaos Magicians call Gnosis: a state of consciousness
where one can focus entirely on just one thing. This is
essential for many kinds of magick, especially sigil magick,
which we'll be getting into a bit in the next chapter.
There are tons of ways to achieve Gnosis, one of the most
popular being orgasm. (They don't call it gnOoOOHsis for
nothing!) But, if you're not particularly horny, one of the more
practical methods is meditation. Meditation sounds boring and
difficult—and it is—but it's incredibly effective for achieving
Gnosis and holding that state long enough to do real magick.
Qabalists have a few different meditation methods, which you
may or may not already know of. The first method is probably
the most well known: mantras. Qabalistic mantras are usually
devotional phrases or words, repeated slowly in tandem with
rhythmic breathing until the mantra takes up 100% of your
attention. At that point, you're in Gnosis.
49
If you were just trying to charge a "mantrical sigil", which we'll
discuss later, then this is all you have to do. Get into gnosis
using this method, and continue repeating the mantra while
pouring all your attention into it, then release it into your
subconscious, launching the sigil.
If your intention isn't a mantrical sigil, you could still use the
mantra method. Start with a mantra that is meaningful to you
and is in some way related to your intention, or just start with a
gibberish mantra. Get into gnosis, then just replace the mantra
with your sigil or intent.
A popular mantra for this is "ABRAHADABRA", which is an
incredibly interesting word; even its Wikipedia page has some
good information about it.
Other examples include:
Geburah — Gedulah
(Gedulah is another name for Chesed)
Raphael — Gavriel — Michael — Auriel
Ohm
And anything else you want it to be (bonus points if you use
techniques from the last chapter to come up with your own
motto/mantra)
*inhale*
Suupeercaaliifraagiiliistiic
*exhale*
Eexpeeeaaaliiidooocioousss
50
Another, more interesting in my opinion, method of meditation
is what I call "absolute destruction meditation". Basically you
look at something detailed, or say/hear a complex word or
sentence, or even a paragraph, until you can intensly recreate it
in your mind. If it's an image, try "scanning" it in. Build up the
image slowly in your mind from left to right, top to bottom,
never losing track of what you have so far. Once it's complete
and vivid, start erasing it SLOWLY from right to left, bottom to
top, until it is completely gone.
If you did this right, at this point your head is empty, no think!
Just fill that void with one thing you want absolute focus on, and
you're in Gnosis.
If you have trouble with visualizing (I feel your pain), you can
do the same thing with a word or words. I like to use
ABRAHADABRA. Build up your mantra one letter at a time from
left to right slowly:
Aaaa, Aaabbb, Aaaabbrrr, Aabbrraa, etc. until
Aabbrraahhaaddaabbrraa
Then, working backwards, erase one letter at a time until there
is nothing left. It should have the same effect as the
visualization technique, but don't worry if it doesn't work the
first time. Keep practicing!
Something else that can help with any kind of Gnosis technique,
is to "banish" first. Banishing rituals are really useful for several
reasons, but mainly they help clear your head of unwanted
thoughts that could get in the way of meditation or magick.
Let's destroy your mind!
Isn't this fun?
51
There are many uses for banishing rituals. They're great at
clearing your head, but also for clearing a space. Banishing
rituals can banish broadly, or specifically banish the influence
of a certain element or idea (such as a Sephirah's influence).
Banishing rituals are NOT space exorcisms for demons and
spirits. However, they may keep unwanted spirits away from
your workspace temporarily, and you may be able to banish
"inner demons" this way. Everyday practice of banishing rituals
has been known to cause some pretty big changes in people's
lives, usually for the better in the long run, but this can be
disruptive.
Generally, it's good practice to banish before doing anykind of
magickal ritual or other magickal act because otherwise you
risk subconscious influences fucking up your intention. Don't
be like me! Half my sigils in the past ended up causing me a lot
of grief and trauma on the way to completing my intention. If I
had banished beforehand, maybe that would have saved me
some pain.
Exercise 3: Baby Qabalist's First Ritual!
LBRP
Quick get the camera!
Let's do one of the most well-known and loved banishing
rituals within the occult community (especially within
Western Esotericism). If you've done any "High Magick" or
ritual magick in the past, you've most likely done this already,
or at least heard about it. The ritual is called the Lesser
Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram (LBRP). Though it's often
used in other practices, this ritual is purely Qabalistic.
52
Note: Becoming a Human Vibrator
This ritual, and many others, call for "vibrating" or
"intoning" words of power or divine names. In order to
vibrate a word, take a deep breath in, then exhale the
word slowly in one tone and with force. With practice,
you'll feel a powerful vibration in your body or around
you, and sometimes you can hear overtones in your
voice. It's a surefire way to feel like a badass wizard and
get the attention of whoever's name you're calling!
Oh GoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoD!
53
LBRP Part 1: The Qabalistic Cross
Step 1: Facing East, imagine a sphere of blinding white light
about a foot above your head. This is Kether, the source,
God's consciousness. With your index and middle finger
combined (or a dagger if you have one), point to Kether, and
bring down a ray of light to your forehead. Vibrate "ATAH"
(Ahhh-Taaahhh). Atah means "you" in Hebrew, but in this
case it means "Your"
Step 2: Pull a pillar of light from that point through your body
down to between and slightly beneath your feet. Imagine
another point there, this is Malkuth. Vibrate "MALKUTH"
(Maahlkooot). Now we have "Your Kingdom".
Step 3: Bring your dagger or fingers back up the pillar to
shoulder height, and pull light to your right shoulder (The
Tree of Life is flipped when super-imposed on a human
body). This point is Geburah. Intone "V'GEBURAH" (Vehh
Gehh-boo-rahh). Now we've said "Your Kingdom, and Power"
Step 4: Now bring that light over to your left shoulder, so that
now you have a cross of divine light. This point is Chesed,
also known as Gedulah. Vibrate "V'GEDULAH" (Vehh Geh-
doo-lahh). So now our phrase is "Your Kingdom, and Power
and Greatness".
Step 5: Bring your hands together at your heart, feeling the
cross of light glow more intensly, and vibrate "L'Olahm.
Amen" (Lehh Ohlahhm Aahhmehhn). Olahm means "world",
but it can also mean "Forever". The final phrase is "You
Kingdom, and Power, and Greatness, Forever. Amen"
54
55
LBRP Part 2: The Pentagrams
Don't worry it's not Satanic (but that would be cool)
Now that the Qabalistic Cross is done, we need to establish the
banishing circle. To do this, we draw "Earth banishing
pentagrams" in each of the 4 cardinal directions, and charge
them with the power of a name of God. This pushes out any
unwanted thoughts or energy and the pentagrams act as seals
that form a circle where those thoughts and energy can't get
back into.
An Earth banishing pentagram begins at
the bottom left and moves up to the top
clockwise, and so on.
Step 6: In the East, draw the pentagram
with your right hand two fingers, or a
dagger. The first point should begin at your left hip, the second
above your head, and the upper left and right points should be
at shoulder level. Imagine the pentagram glowing like blue
flames as you draw it.
When it's done, pull back and put both hands into the center
with force, and vibrate: "YUD HEH VAV HEH". Imagine the
pentagram glowing brighter when you do this.
Step 7: Now hold your right hand in the center of the
pentagram, then draw a line of white light as you turn 90
degrees "deosil" (clockwise). Repeat the pentagram here in the
South, this time Vibrating "ADONAI".
Steps 8-9: Repeat this process two more times, vibrating
"EHIEH" in the West, and "AGLA" (Agehla) in the North. Finish
the circle by continuing the white line back to the first
pentagram.
56
LBRP Part 3: Yelling at the Archangels
Hey Rafi! Gabby! Mike! Aurie! Get the fuck over here!
Now that you're surrounded by pointy flaming stars, it's time to
get your friends in here too! This is often the part where you
really feel the energy of this ritual. If that doesn't happen the
first time, it's okay. Just keep practicing.
Step 10: Stand with your arms out, facing East. Say with
conviction: "Before me! RAPHIEL!" (vibrate the capitalized part)
Imagine a powerful wind almost knocking you over coming
from in front of you, but stand strong in it.
Step 11: "Behind me! GAVRIEL!" Imagine a tidal wave hitting
you from behind, but you're stable and safe.
Step 12: "To my right hand! MICHAEL" (remember the Hebrew
pronunciation notes? MICHAEL is pronounced Meechahyel)
Imagine a cleansing fire burning the whole circle, but you
remain unscathed.
Step 13: "To my left hand! AURIEL" Imagine a powerful
earthquake or a mudslide almost knock you over. Again, stand
strong.
Step 14: Now solidify the image of the pentagrams around you
in your mind's eye (or feel the image strongly if your
visualization skills are lacking). Say "For about me flame the
pentagrams!"
Step 15: Imagine a hexagram (Also known as the Star of David)
at your heart. Say "And within me shines the six rayed star!"
Now repeat the Qabalistic Cross and you're done!
57

58
Wooh! That seems like a hell of a ritual! But don't worry, it's a lot
quicker than you might expect. Actually, once you memorize it
you should be able to do it in less than 5 minutes every time. For
me it's usually 3-4 minutes.
Also, if you're in a space where you can't be loud, it's acceptable
to use a quiet but powerful voice, or just do it in your head! I
really recommend you do it out loud at least a couple times if
you can though.
That's an incredibly popular banishing ritual, and there are
other great ones that are well established. But I'm feeling kind of
full of myself, so I made my own! I mean, we're Qaos Qabalists,
fuck the rules!
Before we get into the "Qaos Qabalists' Banishing Ritual", let's
dissect the core components of a banishing ritual. From what
I've discovered after doing and analyzing a few, there are seven
key points to a good banishing ritual:
1. A sense of importance or psychodrama
2. Invocation of divine energy
3. Banishing an elemental force, usually using some sort of
glyph or sigil and vibrating a word of power
4. Sealing and establishing a circle
5. Optional partial invocation of helpful spirits/archangels
6. Statement or assertion of completion
7. Repeat invocation of divine energy
Take a look at the LBRP and try to see how each of these points
fits into it. After you try my banishing, use these points to
design your own!

Exercise 4: Qaos Qabalist's Banishing Ritual
QQBR
Step 1: Beginning in the East, imagine a point of light above
your head at Kether. Touch it with your right hand, two fingers,
and vibrate: "KETHER".
Step 2-10: Touch and vibrate CHOCHMAH by your left cheek,
BINAH by your right cheek,
CHESED at your left shoulder,
GEBURAHat your right shoulder,
TIPHERETH at your heart,
NETZACH at your left hip,
HOD at your right hip,
YESOD at your genitals,
and point to your feet for MALKUTH.
As you do this, imagine the white light of Kether follow this
lightning bolt pattern through all the Sephiroth.
Step 11: Put your arms out, and vibrate "KAOS KERAUNOS
EHIEH". Then yell desperately, "Strike me with your divine
lightning!" and feel the lightning bolt pattern explode with
divine energy.
QQBR Part 1: The Divine Lightning Bolt
SSHHOOCCKKIINNGGGGGGGG!!
60
QQBR Part 2: Banish, Manifest, Seal!
Step 12: After a pause to recover from being struck by
lightning, say the following:
"With my right hand, I banish!"
"With my feet, I manifest my will!" - Stomp twice
"With my left hand, I seal!"
Step 13: Clap your hands together, and say "Hekas Hekas Este
Bebeloi!" This is a phrase that's often used by itself as a mini
banishing, meaning "Far, far away be the profane".
Step 14: Now, starting in the East, draw the symbol of the
appropriate element (Air) using your right hand. As you do
this, vibrate "ELOHIM GIBOR", and cross out the symbol with
your hand to banish the element's influence.
Then stomp your feet and vibrate "ADONAI HA'ARETZ".
Then, with your left hand, draw a circle around the symbol
clockwise. Then touch the center with the palm of your hand
and visualize it glowing. Vibrate "EL".
This is to seal the element out. In
the end it looks like you have a sign
in front of you that means "no Air
allowed!"
Air Fire
Water Earth
61
Step 15-17: Just repeat that process for each other element,
turning clockwise 90 degrees and carrying a line like in the
LBRP.
Fire - South — Water - West — Earth - North.
Step 18: When the circle is complete, say:
"The circle is closed, and only the divine can enter...
AUGOEIDES, my Holy Guardian Angel, come, aid me in this
banishing"
Step 19: "I banish thee Choronzon!"
Step 20: Say "Within me shines the divine! And without me lives
the profane!" Then repeat the Divine Lightning Bolt.

KameameHA!
The Super-Saiyan Powers of Little
Doodles
Alright, it's finally time to get into some real, practical magick!
In the last chapter, we focused on banishing, which is
practical in its own way, but it's mainly considered "High
Magick", which means it's magick with a focus on personal
spiritual growth and attainment.
This chapter is mostly about "Low Magick", which means
practical real world magick that focuses on tangible results in
the world of Assiah (the physical plane). Now you can finally
manifest a following for your OnlyFans!
One of the most popular tools in the Chaos Magician's toolkit,
which has become popular amongst witches at this point too,
is sigils. If you've been living under a rock, sigils are basically
little doodles or symbols that you can charge and release to
manifest your intention. They're incredibly handy, and they
work (for better or for worse).
Chaos Magicians use a number of different methods to create
sigils, but by far the most popular is the "word doodle" method.
To make a word doodle, write down your intention in plain
English, cross out repeating letters (and vowels if you want),
and place the letters in a random pattern that looks interesting.
Then just reduce and embellish the doodle until it looks cool,
and you're done! Just jack off on it, and your rare limited
edition anime waifu body pillow is on its way!
63
Example of the Chaos Magick word-doodle sigil method:
I MEET TOMMY WISEAU
IMETOYWSAU
In case you haven't noticed, I love bad movies
This method is fantastic, and it works, but let's come up with a
Qaos Qabalist method!
Exercise 5: Qaos Qabalist's Sigil Method
First, write out your intention as before:
(this time I'm going to write an intention that I actually want)
THIS BOOK WILL SELL OVER ONE HUNDRED
COPIES
But this time, we'll use the Notariqon method we saw a couple
chapters ago, and only take the first letter of each word,
skipping repeated letters:
TBWSOHC
64
Now that we have this unpronouncable mess of letters, let's
convert this into Hebrew, skipping duplicate letters:
(Remember that some English letters have more than one
Hebrew equivalent, choose whichever you prefer).
תבוסהכ
Now we have something pronounceable, because Hebrew has
no defined vowels. This could be pronounced "Tvushehak" or
"Tebosehek". You can use this as a mantrical sigil, and charge it
using the mantra gnosis method we discussed in "Qabalistic
Scrabble". But let's not stop here. I want a doodle, and God
damn it I'm going to get one!
Now you can use Temurah to change up the letters if you want,
but I like this setup so I'm going to leave it as is. You could just
use the word doodle method with these Hebrew letters, but I
want to add a little more Qabalistic pazazz!
Draw 10 dots, in the shape of the Tree of Life. Remember that
each path on the Tree corresponds to a letter? We just have to
fill in each path that corresponds to the letters here. Use the
Tree of Life diagram (page 13) as a reference for this.
65
Now, draw just the paths together into some lines, connecting
the ones that attach to the same Sephiroth. Then simplify and
embellish to your heart's content. I usually like to make it
curvy (like me) and add circles and arrows and things.
The Finished Sigil

Note:
Dangers of Low Magick, and how to prevent them
I'd feel pretty shitty if I didn't at least mention this: Magick
works! And sometimes, it works in ways that you don't want it
to. I've had several absolutely traumatic experiences as a
result of Low Magick (especially sigils) backfiring, because I
didn't take the necessary precautions. They all still worked; I
got what I asked for. But it wasn't always worth it.
To avoid the same fate as me, please listen to this advice:
ALWAYS banish before charging a sigil (ideally before
drawing the sigil as well). And if you have the skill, do some
sort of divination, such as a tarot reading, beforehand to
make sure there won't be any painful surprises!
Many people in the Ceremonial Magick community believe
that you shouldn't do any Low Magick before you acheive
Knowledge and Conversation of your Holy Guardian Angel
(look at the recommended resources list to learn more about
this), because otherwise you risk going against your True
Will. I don't believe that, but I do think you need to be
careful.
Stan Lee can't make a Kamea in this superhero
movie, but you can!
Rest in Peace, Stan. You were always the best Marvel character
So what the hell is this "Kamea" I keep talking about?! Well,
believe it or not, Qabalah has it's own sigil making methods —
apart from the one we just did that I made up. "Kamea" is
another name for a "Magic Square". If you've heard about
these before you might be groaning: "Ugghhh, math!"
67
Yep, Kameoth (plural for Kamea) are math-related, but don't
worry! We're not going to be actually doing any math here.
Magic squares are square grids of numbers, where each row,
column, and diagonal, adds up to the same number. So what
does this have to do with Qabalah or sigils?
Magic squares can be made with pretty much any equal
number of rows and columns, and Qabalists love numbers.
Each Sephirah has a Kamea associated with it, based on the
number. Techincally, Kether's Kamea is just the number 1, and
Chochmah's isn't very useful either.
