SETTINGS AND
INDICATIONS
4
※ Terminal station settings
In this product, a 110Ω-terminating resistor is built into a position between the
communication lines DA and DB. As the above SW4 No.2 switch is turned
ON, this product can be used as the terminal station without connecting of
the terminating resistor to the terminal block.
If the CC-Link special cable (CC-Link special high performance cable (KURAMO
DENKO, FANC-SBH, etc.) needing a terminating resistance value other than
110Ω or the terminating resistor connection method is different with the
T-branch connection used when this product is used as the terminal station,
turn OFF the terminal station setting switch (SW4 No. 2) to make use of the
terminating resistor built-into this product disabled. In this case,
additionally, generally purchased terminating resistor or terminating resistor
supplied with the master station corresponding to the connection conditions
(specifications) is connected to the connector of this product in order to use
the product as terminal station.

※ When using the T-branch connection, how to connect the
terminating resistor may vary depending on the
hardware version of the master station. For details, see
the CC-Link User’s Manual published by Mitsubishi
Electric.

Before setting any switch, make sure that the power to the
slave station is turned OFF.
The cover of this product can be opened and closed using
one-touch operation. Always close the cover firmly when
it is not necessary to set the switches. If the cover is left
opened, foreign matter may enter the internal circuit
through the cover opening, causing the product to
malfunction or the cover to break. Additionally, when
setting the switches, pay special attention so that any
foreign matter does not enter the inside of the product.
The setting switches are precision devices. If the
switches are handled roughly, the switches may be broken.
Additionally, when setting the switches, do not touch the
internal circuit board.
Always set the same transmission rate as that set on all
the master, local, and remote stations on the network. If
even one station has a different transmission rate, the data
link cannot be operated correctly.

starting the wiring work, make sure that the power is turned OFF.
Additionally, do not touch the electrically live part by wet hand.
Pay special attention so that any tensile or impact force is not
applied to the power and signal cables. If the wiring distance is
long, an unexpected force is produced by the own weight and
shock. This may cause the unit to break. To prevent such
troubles, secure the wiring cable to the machine unit halfway of
the wiring route or take other appropriate measures.

5.2 Connecting the power cable
When connecting the power cable to thisproduct, follow the steps below.
① After checking the safety, turn OFF the power to the slave station and
Absodex driver.
② Insert the 24V and 0V lines of the power cable through relevant holes while
referring to the orientation of the connection connector (BL3.5/2F) and secure
them using the cable fixing screws. (See the Figure below.)
(At this time, use the power cable with the AWG 14 (UL standard)
specifications.)
③ Make sure that the polarities of the power cable are matched with those
shown on this product. Insert the connection connectors into this product
and secure them using the connector fixing screws. (Proper tightening
torque: 0.3 N·m)

※ Recommended connector
 Connector supplied with this product:

Before connecting the power cable, check the polarities of the
slave station terminals and those of the cable terminals.
Select an appropriate power cable based on the calculation
results of the consumption current.
If one power supply is connected to multiple slave and remote
I/O stations, select an appropriate cable and carry out the wiring
by taking the voltage drop caused by the cable into
consideration.
If the voltage drop cannot be avoided, use multiple power
systems or install a separate power supply to keep the specified
power voltage.
To avoid troubles caused by noise, strictly observe the following
cautions.
Do not make the length of the power cable too long. Make the
length of the power cable as short as possible.
Perform the wiring with the power supply separated from that of
the unit, which becomes a noise source such as inverter or
motor, etc.
Do not perform the wiring so that the power and communication
cables are parallel to other power cables.

CAUTIONS
7
7. CAUTIONS (SUPPLEMENTAL DESCRIPTION)
7.1 Emergency stop input
①The emergency stop input has been set invalid at shipment of the product
(Absodex driver). To make the emergency stop input valid, set “1” or “3” to
parameter No. 23 of the Absodex driver. (For details, see the instruction
manual (SMB-14 (H-type) and SMB-31 (S-type)) supplied with the Absodex
driver.)

②The emergency stop input is input from the emergency stop input terminal of
the serial transmission slave station adaptor and the contact inside the serial
transmission slave station. (The emergency stop input is input by the signal
from CC-Link.) Additionally, above two inputs are connected in series.
Therefore, when either signal is input, this is determined as emergency stop
input. (See the Figure below.)

③The emergency stop input uses the b-contact input. Therefore, the emergency
stop input becomes valid if the point between the emergency stop input
terminals is opened. (The emergency stop input contact inside the serial
transmission slave station is valid if the input signal to the emergency stop
input is turned OFF.)

④It must be avoided to make the emergency stop input invalid. Failure to do
so may cause an unexpected operation.

⑤When using the pulse row input cable (optional), the emergency stop input is
in the open state. In this case, make the emergency stop input
short-circuited and mount a b-contact switch for manual emergency stop
input.
