John B. Durkee, Ph.D. studied at Lehigh University (Chemical Engineering, 1962, 1964, 1969). Through- out a 25-year career with DuPont and Conoco, he managed industrial technologies and processes, including the development and implementation of environmentally friendly, commercially successful alternatives to CFCs. A professional consultant, his monthly columns appear in Controlled Environments (critical cleaning), Galvanotechnik (precision clean- ing), and Metal Finishing (metal cleaning). Dr. Durkee is a member of AICHE, ACS, IEST, and ASTM. About the Author
