I acknowledge a heartful of thanks to my wife Anita, to my daughter Anindita, and to my son
Indrajit. Purba, you deserve special thanks.

to see.
Sankhasubhra Nag never refused to be by my side whenever I needed him, and his help and
support permeate this book.
Little Aditya, you have been a constant source of love and joy. At the age of three, you have
been wise enough to mercilessly pen through most of my notes. Your “criticism” did me a
world of good.
