9(ENADE, 2017) Many students having difficulty understanding Shakespeare would be surprised to learn that he wrote in Modern
English, but Elizabethan English has much more in common with our language today than it does with the language of Chaucer.
Many familiar words and phrases were coined or first recorded by Shakespeare. Newcomers to Shakespeare are often shoken at
the number of clichés contained in his plays, until they realize that he coined them and they became clichés afterwards. "One fell
swoop", "vanish into thin air", and "flesh and blood" are all Shakespeare's. One major factor which influenced the language and
served to separate Middle and Modern English was the Great Vowel Shift, a change in pronounciation that began around 1400.
While Modern English speakers can read Chaucer with some difficulty, Chaucer's pronounciation would have been completely
unintelligible to the modern ear. Shakespeare, on the other hand, would be accented, but understandable.Vowel sounds began to
be made further to the front of the mouth and the letter "e" at the end of words became silent. Chaucer's lyf (pronounced "leef")
became the modern life. In Middle English five was pronounced "feef", and down was pronounced "doon".

Considering the excerpt above about the history of English, choose the correct option:

11(ENADE, 2017) In 2016, Bob Dylan was awarded with the Nobel Prize for Literature, and the excerpt below is part of his
acceptance speech.
"I was out on the road when I received this surprising news [that I had won the Nobel Prize], and it took me more than a few
minutes to properly process it. I began to think about William Shakespeare, the great literary figure. I would reckon he thought of
himself as a dramatist. The thought that he was writing literature couldn't have entered his head. His words were written for the
stage. Meant to be spoken not read. When he was writing Hamlet, I'm sure he was thinking about a lot of different things: 'Who're
the right actors for these roles?', 'How should this be staged?', 'Do I really want to set this in Denmark?'. His creative vision and
ambitions were no doubt at the forefront of his mind, but there were also more mundane matters to considerand deal with. 'Is the
financing in place?', 'Are there enough good seats for my patrons?', 'Where am I going to get a human skull?' I would bet that the
farthest thing from Shakespeare's mind was the question 'Is this literature?'.
Like Shakespeare, I too am often occupied with the pursuit of my creative endeavors and dealing with all aspects of life's mundane
matters. 'Who are the best musicians for these songs?', 'Am I recording in the right studio?', 'Is this song in the right key?'. Some
things never change, even in 400 years.
Not once had I ever had the time to ask myself, 'Are my songs literature?'
So, I do thank the Swedish Academy, both for taking the time to consider that very question, and, ultimately, for providing such a
wonderful answer".

Consider the fragment of Dylan's speech in order to analyze the following statements:

I- Dylan was aware of the literary value of his songs.
II- Dylan was happy to receive a prize that Shakespeare also did.
III- The Nobel Prize Award meant that the Swedish Academy understood his songs also as literature.
IV- The recognition of the literary value of lyrics reinforces the importance of using songs and other midia as tool for language
teaching.

It is only correct what is stated in:
