 Rosa is studying a lot at some Geography books she found in the house. She is
curious about the weather in the United States. Here is the chapter she is reading.

The climate of the United States varies a lot due to the position of its states when it
comes to latitude as well as to the range of geographic features the country has.
Generally speaking, the western and southern parts of the USA have warmer
weather if compared to eastern and northern areas. The eastern/northern regions
experience harsh winters with heavy snowfall but summers are pleasant; on the
other hand, the western/southern parts have extremely hot summers and,
compared to the eastern/ northern regions, tolerable winters. Some weather
conditions such as cyclones and fronts are more common in the colder months than
in the warmer months in the United States. Extreme weather is not uncommon -
tornadoes occur in the area of the Midwest known as Tornado Alley with some
regularity, whereas heavy snowstorms can hit northern areas and tropical cyclones
can strike the south. It is a fact that the United States has more tornadoes than the
rest of the countries of the world combined. So, as you can see, the climate in the
USA is not ordinary at all!
