The molecule is predicted to be E more stable than the separate atoms on the basis of this simple picture. HeH 1 3.40 Nitrogen 1 is sp² hybridized and its 3 unshared pair of electrons is in an sp² : N NH₂ nonbonding AO. Nitrogen 2 is also sp² hybridized, but its "unshared" pair of 2 N electrons is in a p orbital and is part of the conjugated pi system.
