Considering its main characteristics and concepts, analyse the statements below: The teacher uses drills in order to teach structural patterns. Students memorize sets of phrases with a focus on pronunciation and intonation. There are few grammatical explanations. Students learn vocabulary in context and through audio-visual aids. Correct responses are positively reinforced immediately. II- Learners receive large quantities of information in the new language during initial lessons. Texts are translated and then read aloud with classical music in the background. The teacher uses large quantities of linguistic material to introduce the idea that language understanding is easy and natural. III- Understanding occurs through active student interaction in the foreign language. Students learn strategies both for understanding and for learning the second language. Effective classroom learning tasks and exercises provide opportunities for students to negotiate meaning. IV- Learners engage in interaction and meaningful communication. Learners' personal experiences and situations are very important and considered as an invaluable contribution to the content of the lessons.
