Uncountable
Nouns
Idea and experiences: Information, advice, news, progress,
luck, fun, work
Liquid, Powders, Gases: Water, sugar, salt, air and so on
Emotions: Anger, love, happiness, fear and so on
Weather words: Storm, thunder, lightning, rain, snow and
so on
Other common nouns that are uncountable: Furniture,
Money, bread, petrol, golf, rubbish, travel, research,
trouble …
The Countable nouns as the title says are the nouns that we
can count. These nouns can come in the singular form or
plural, sometimes they come with A/An before them or even a
number, see some examples:
A house, Five Houses
An Apple, Twenty Apples
Fifty Cars, two cars
The Uncountable nouns are those that we can’t count in
simple ways like in the countable. Sometime because we need
to see somethings as whole, like mass, kilometer, liters and so
on, that means we need to have some way to measure the
quantity. Here some of the things that are uncountable:

In this case we don’t have to use A /An before them or even
number in these cases often come in plural.

Lawyer, nurses;

COUNTABLE
- Socks, glasses, bathrooms, rooms,
boats, tables, stores, city, Forks
markers, rings;
- Beliefs, magazines, houses, concert,
guitar;
- Animals, coins, baby, person.
UNCOUNTABLE
- Rain, Snow, Sunny;
- Sugar, Salt, Rice, oil;
- Water, Juice, Soda, Milk;
- Money, bread, information, news,
advice, homework, trouble, energy,
wisdom;
